Teens and Adults

The courses used with older beginners incorporate familiar songs making them fun to play and easy to recognize whether or not you are playing correctly.

Chord Charts

Along with learning music theory and fundamentals, some students enjoy learning to play chords and add improvisation.

Elementary Age Students

For the elementary age student there are two courses available: Piano Adventures and Alfred Basic Piano Course. The course is chosen according to the student’s music background and their learning style.

Motivating students to play music for life!

Community Playing Opportunities

Students have opportunities to use their gifts to bless the community and to become more comfortable playing for people.

Area senior living centers enjoy the students coming in and playing dinner music.

Each January, students have the opportunity to play a memorized song for an audience and listen to other students of various levels.

Also, students have the opportunity each February to participate in the Florida Federation of Music Clubs Festival. Students play two memorized songs for a judge and scored and given valuable feedback on their progress. The highest rating is Superior. If they receive Superior for 3 consecutive years, they receive a Gold Cup. And the size of the cup increases with continuing years.

Mary teaches in homes and via Skype and FaceTime.

Pre-School Piano

Many of our students began lessons at a very young age and have continued to become accomplished musicians. This is a result of learning from a delightful course called Piano Party. Although children don’t understand note reading at this young age, they love shapes and colors. So this series is beautifully age-appropriate introducing music, notes, and rhythms.

Flute Lessons

We offer beginner to intermediate flute lessons learning note reading, rhythms, and fingerings. The series includes a cd providing a way for the student to play along.

Ensemble Playing

Students become well-rounded players because they have the opportunity to play in a variety of events.

Students can participate in these events in addition to playing solos.

  • Duet: Two students on one piano- so four hands on the piano.
  • Music Theory: Students take a music theory test at the level they are learning.
  • Trio: Three students on one piano- six hands playing at once!
  • Quartet: Two students on one piano- two on another. Very helpful in learning to play as a band, as the four young ladies in the picture above have done!
  • Concerto: Student is featured with teacher accompanying for an accomplished piece.
